What do you like about your job and the company?
Data serves as the heartbeat of any business, playing a crucial role in both technological advancements and business growth. Organizations heavily depend on clean and transformed data to drive their operations. As a data engineer, I stand at the forefront of this process. Through the Extract Transform Load (ETL) process, we ensure that businesses have access to accurate and refined data. This data analysis empowers organizations to make informed decisions and take proactive measures. It presents a wonderful opportunity to delve into the telco business model, transforming historical data to facilitate the thriving of businesses. In this ever-evolving landscape, the role of a data engineer is instrumental in shaping the success of organizations by harnessing the power of data.
Greatest achievements
I am delighted to highlight a significant milestone achieved during my tenure as a Senior Data Engineer. We successfully executed a seamless migration of critical applications from legacy servers to a modern infrastructure, resulting in substantial time and cost savings for the organization. By undertaking this strategic migration initiative, we eliminated the constraints imposed by outdated infrastructure, paving the way for enhanced performance, scalability, and security. The meticulous planning and execution of the migration process ensured minimal disruption to business operations, ensuring uninterrupted service delivery to our customers. The benefits of this app migration were twofold. Firstly, the improved performance and scalability of the new infrastructure led to faster processing and response times, resulting in an enhanced user experience. Secondly, the migration resulted in significant cost savings for the organization, eliminating the need for costly maintenance and support of aging servers. Overall, this achievement exemplifies our commitment to driving efficiency and innovation within the telecom IT landscape. The successful migration of critical applications not only optimized our infrastructure but also unlocked new opportunities for future growth and digital transformation.

There are immense opportunities to grow in _VOIS, there are no limitations to ones experience / back ground. As long as you have zeal to learn and attitude of going extra mile for the customers, you will grow faster. You name the technology / function / department and we have that in our organization, starting from IT service desk to a 3rd line IP engineer, or change /config / service management etc. While i manage the front office teams (Customer facing advisors), i had team members who had cracked IJP in various teams (Cyber Security / Service Management / IT Service Management) etc.

The one thing I have always lived upon is taking risks and continuous learning. Some of us always hold back to ourselves with a fear of failure and hence we don't want to take risk. I have always taken a pause to self reflect and set goals to add to my learning and capabilities. If I have to talk about some of the key risks I have taken that would be taking the risk of change from a very settled process to a project which was not doing well. I have always chosen to be in a challenging role rather than sticking to your comfort zone. The comfort zone may give you peace for a while but the challenges keep you motivated and gives you the passion to keep working.
