Is it necessary to apply through referral for any openings ? As I didn’t get any response from any recruitment team?

I had applied for 7-9 applications within my experience range in last 10-11 months but never get contacted by any HR or recruitment team. It seems only referrals candidates or interlinked candidates application process for interview
